Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 15 May 2025  ·  Effective Date: 15 May 2025

Please read these terms at your own pace before taking up any arrangement with Yuet Wah. They are written to be clear and fair, and we are glad to talk through any part of them with you or your family.

1. About Yuet Wah

Yuet Wah (悅華居) is a non-medical senior lifestyle community located at 47 Castle Peak Road, Tuen Mun, New Territories, Hong Kong. We offer comfortable monthly living arrangements — including shared dining, garden access, and full residential packages — for older adults who wish to enjoy a calm, supported daily life in a warm community setting.

Yuet Wah is not a medical facility, a care home, or a nursing home. We do not provide clinical care, medication management, or medical supervision. Residents requiring medical attention should consult qualified healthcare professionals.

2. Eligibility

Our arrangements are open to adults aged 55 and above who are able to live independently and do not require clinical nursing care. Before any arrangement begins, we invite prospective residents and, where appropriate, their family members for a relaxed introductory visit so we can understand their preferences and answer questions on both sides.

We reserve the right to decline an enquiry if we believe Yuet Wah is not a suitable match for a person's needs — always with a respectful explanation and, where we can, a suggestion of more appropriate options.

3. Arrangements and Pricing

We currently offer three monthly arrangements:

Shared Dining & Tea House — HK$1,080 / month

Three home-style meals each day in our communal dining hall, plus an afternoon tea sitting with dim sum and conversation. Menus follow Cantonese home cooking and the seasons.

Garden & Courtyard Mornings — HK$2,260 / month

Daily access to our landscaped gardens and shaded courtyards, with gentle morning walks, light gardening, and quiet seating. Includes all dining.

Full Comfort Residence Package — HK$3,880 / month

A private furnished room with daily housekeeping, fresh linen, laundry, errand help, and a personal welcome host, together with all dining and garden offerings.

All prices are quoted in Hong Kong Dollars and are inclusive of the services described. Prices are reviewed periodically; existing residents will be given no less than 60 days' written notice before any change takes effect.

4. Payment

Monthly fees are payable in advance, on or before the first day of each month. We accept payment by bank transfer, cheque, or other methods agreed in writing at the time of arrangement. Receipts are provided for every payment.

A security deposit equivalent to one month's fee is held at the start of an arrangement. This is returned in full, without deduction, within 14 days of the arrangement ending, provided there are no outstanding amounts.

If a payment is overdue by more than 14 days, we will gently contact the resident or their nominated family member to arrange a solution. We aim to resolve payment questions with kindness before any formal steps are considered.

5. Starting and Ending an Arrangement

An arrangement begins on the agreed start date and continues on a rolling monthly basis. Either party may choose to end the arrangement by giving 30 days' written notice. No reason is required, though we welcome a conversation if something has not met expectations.

If a resident wishes to change from one arrangement to another, we ask for two weeks' notice so we can prepare the transition smoothly.

In the rare event that a resident's needs change to the point where Yuet Wah can no longer provide a suitable environment — for example, where clinical care becomes necessary — we will work with the resident and their family to plan a considerate transition, giving as much notice as the circumstances allow.

6. Our Responsibilities

We are committed to providing the services described in the chosen arrangement with care and consistency. We will:

We are not responsible for the personal belongings of residents beyond what is covered by our standard room security. We encourage residents holding valuables to arrange their own contents insurance.

7. Resident Responsibilities

We ask residents to:

8. Guests and Visitors

Residents are warmly welcome to receive family and friends during visiting hours. Overnight guests may be accommodated in certain circumstances with prior agreement from the residence manager. We ask that all visitors are considerate of the wider community.

We reserve the right to ask a visitor to leave if their behaviour causes discomfort to other residents or staff.

9. Health, Safety, and Emergencies

Yuet Wah takes the safety of its residents seriously. We comply with all applicable fire safety, building, and hygiene regulations in Hong Kong. Emergency procedures are clearly displayed throughout the residence.

In the event of a medical emergency, our staff will call emergency services (999) immediately and notify the resident's emergency contact as promptly as possible. We do not provide first aid beyond basic measures.

Residents are asked to provide an emergency contact at the time of joining and to keep this information current.

10. Complaints and Feedback

We value every piece of feedback and treat all concerns as an opportunity to improve. If something has not been to your satisfaction, we encourage you to speak directly with the residence manager in the first instance. Most matters can be resolved quickly and informally.

If you prefer to raise a matter in writing, please address it to us at [email protected] or by post to 47 Castle Peak Road, Tuen Mun. We will acknowledge your correspondence within three working days and aim to resolve it within 14 days.

We will never allow a complaint to affect the quality of care or service provided to a resident.

11. Limitation of Liability

Yuet Wah will not be liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from circumstances outside its reasonable control, including natural events, interruptions to public utilities, or actions of third parties unconnected with the residence.

Nothing in these terms limits any legal rights you hold as a consumer under Hong Kong law.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any dispute arising from or connected with an arrangement at Yuet Wah shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.
